Drakonis Language Structure

The Drakonis language is built on stylized roots and a simple, expandable structure that makes vocabulary growth intuitive and organic.

While many words exist as standalone roots, most are formed by combining ideas into compound concepts. For example, the word for owl — gienyg — blends gie (bird) and nyg (night). It’s a language of meaning through fusion.

Words can also be refined with prefixes and suffixes to add nuance or grammatical clarity. For instance, syra (fly) becomes syranir (flying), using the suffix -(a)nir to express the present participle. A full list of available modifiers can be found below.

Drakonis uses a Subject-Verb-Object (SVO) sentence structure, modeled directly after English. This makes it accessible to native English speakers. However, the translator provided on this site is literal — offering word-for-word translations regardless of syntax or grammar quality. Whether your input is elegant or awkward, it will render as faithfully as possible.

Though development began in late 2023, Drakonis is still growing. New roots, vocabulary, and refinements are added regularly. What you see here is not a final product — it’s the foundation of something greater.
