Drakonis Numbers and Counting
In the world of Udari, the ancient dragons do not count in tens as humans do—they follow a sacred base-9 system, rooted in the divine structure of their world. Every number is formed from combinations of nine core digits (1 through 9), and zero (0). Zero is used to represent true absence or void, and thus spoken sparingly or with care. Higher magnitudes—such as hundreds, thousands, and beyond—are built with powerful roots that echo the order of the cosmos. These number-words are formed through rhythmic, layered combinations, creating both mathematical precision and linguistic poetry. Dragons express numbers not just as quantities, but as symbols of time, power, and destiny, each with its own runic script carved into stone, spoken in battle, or etched upon sacred relics. This system is ancient, exacting, and beautiful—like the dragons who made it.
