The Gleaming Scythe

Many lives were lost in the creation of this gemstone that was found lodged within the altar at the forge of creation. It is this life that fuels it and many more to come that will add to its power. The destroyer’s own essence and harmonized by Nommares the Prophet comprise this jet black gemstone. It appears much like a cut onyx and is carved to appear like a black dragon’s eye. When used by the one chosen to wield it, it can be turned into the Gleaming Scythe. Such a weapon is not truly suitable for combat, therefore the one that wields it must adapt their martial art to use it properly or failure is likely. Not that it matters much, as the gem is capable of resurrecting its user, but at a cost. When one’s mind is gone, they are lost, and such is the curse of this gem.

The voice of the destroyer is always calm, and cunning. It is wise and calculating. It is not quick to anger, but loathes disloyalty. It earns your trust. His ideas become the user's ideas. He instills a sense of accomplishment and rewards obedience. The chosen one causes it to gain power with every life taken. The power it gains from the death and destruction of life fuels the power of the scythe, which given enough time, can raise the dead and create an apocalypse of undeath.

In the past the gemstone was used to usurp Zephra’s soul, and bind it to that of the destroyer’s, making it possible for him to assault Amaranthinos within his own celestial palace. The destroyer, also known as the Jek’hom here on Udari, was unsuccessful, but not before killing his three wards, Medok, Fathi, and Helo. By defeating him, Amaranthinos caused the gem to shatter, raining down in a thousand pieces all over Udari. This would contain the threat of destruction, but only for the time being. However, as we speak, the shards are being gathered by the loyal agents of the Jek’hom.
