Queen AuraraQueen Aurara rules over the Cosmos and is the primary creator of the gods. As an elven goddess her first creation was the universe, Shalendra, which now lies in ruins. The last vestiges of her ancestral home now rest in the center of the cosmos that overlook all the others she has created over the eons. She is a kind-hearted ruler, but commands respect and order. It is unwise to cross her, as some have come to know very quickly.
When Shalendra was destroyed she found that she was not the only one with powers as strong as her own. She has a twin brother, Yylndar, who is hell-bent on wreaking havoc on all that Aurara had created and fought to maintain. She has been battling him ever since. As the eons come to an end, she has eventually come to realize that Yylndar's purpose is inevitable. For this Cosmos to survive she must choose a successor. Her choice will determine her fate when the end finally comes. Return to Top

Lord AmaranthinosLord Amaranthinos is the king of all dragons. His brilliant opal scales shine brightly across the universe of Udar. Its rebirth has stood the test of time again and again. However, his conflicts with the destroyer have left its scars. His real trials have yet to begin as the Queen has seemingly set her sights upon him. Perhaps he will be the one that will herald the rebirth of the Cosmos.
In this eon, Amaranthinos will face his greatest challenges, but must do so without his wards, their death being the result of the destroyer. Queen Aurara has instructed her most faithful three to assist him for the time-being: Medok, Helo, and Fathi. Return to Top

Destroyer YylndarThe twin brother of Aurara has been born upon creation as the Destroyer, also known in Shalendra as the Níðhöggr. Yylndar is a being of malice and evil for which he must constantly feed. The source of his strength comes from hatred in the hearts of mortals, using that very darkness to control and eventually consume them.
No darkness is never pure; a spec of light rests within Yylndar. The longing he feels for another has grown since the dawn of time. However, he fears this love will always remain unrequited. So he continues on a path of destruction to wipe out the Cosmos and become its next ruler. Perhaps then she will give her heart in return. Return to Top

MedokMedok is the middle of her three sisters. She was sent by the queen to fulfill the role of Lord Taimet when he was killed by the destroyer during Amaranthinos’ previous encounter. She represents the virtue of strength and power. Her aptitude for battle, despite her small frame, makes her dangerous when angered. However, she also possesses a passion that brings about her softer side. To the dragons, she is also the goddess of fertility.
Medok’s relationship with Amaranthinos was forced upon her by the queen. And although she had willfully done her duty, their first interactions did not go smoothly. She also believed that her power rivaled his own. To Medok, this was insulting. She went back to Queen Aurara to voice her complaints, but was instead told to test his strength. When Medok challenged him to battle, she quickly found out who was stronger. Amaranthinos’ strength was formidable, but when tempered by wisdom and courage it lies hidden. Medok, could not see that. After that, Medok’s respect for Amaranthinos improved, and over the ages, she gained even more power through him. Return to Top

HeloHelo is the oldest and wisest of her three sisters. She was sent by the queen to fulfill the role of Lady Narsi when she was killed by the destroyer during Amaranthinos’ previous encounter. She represents the virtue of wisdom and knowledge. Her intelligence and logical mind makes her seem cold, but in truth she is merely calculating. Every decision she makes is well thought out and planned, even if the results appear harsh.
Helo never truly saw Amaranthinos as a wise god. She hated him for his decisions. They were based on feelings, and emotional attachment, rather than logic. Helo went to Queen Aurara to complain, but was instead told to challenge him to a game of Helet. This infuriated Helo. It was her game, the very one she herself invented. There was no way Amaranthinos could best her at her most treasured creation. When she returned, she challenged Amaranthinos to a match, quickly explained the rules, and was even smug enough to allow him the first turn. When the match was over, Helo was amazed. She had never lost before. Two more matches later and Amaranthinos was still the victor. Helo was distraught, but Amaranthinos took her under his wings and showed her a thought of logic that she never considered, but Amaranthinos was able to quickly discover, by just playing a few moves. Helo’s respect grew 10-fold, never understanding just how wise and intelligent he was. It was merely hidden by his strength and courage. Return to Top

FathiFathi is the youngest of her three sisters. She too was sent by the queen to fulfill the role of Lady Upeolth when she was killed by the destroyer during Amaranthinos’ previous encounter. She represents the virtue of courage and compassion. She is kindhearted, but never gives up, no matter the danger or pain that must be endured. She represents the inner strength and will of all mortals and gods alike. She defines what the power of true spirit really is.
Fathi was quickly enamored by Amaranthinos’ and his virtuous heart. His compassion and inner fortitude were far beyond what Fathi expected, even of herself. However, during a particular meeting with Zephra he became angered and argued with him for quite some time. When he sent Zephra back, he quickly returned and Amaranthinos sent him back again. This happened many times over until Fathi finally came to him demanding he not be so harsh and scolded him for it. Amaranthinos was surprised by her outburst, but rather than losing his temper she took her down with him to Udari. In a land called Andro they bore witness to the accounts of a group of young dragons being punished for their insolence. It bothered Fathi, their punishment was harsh and painful. The pair stood as they watched the same group of young wyrmlings grow and mature. They were punished similarly from time to time, but when they had finally become adults, they were faced with a situation that could lead them to a severe punishment if not managed correctly. But the drakes remembered their old lessons, the same ones that their parents taught them, though harsh and unforgiving as they were. It was nonetheless a good lesson. The drakes decided at that moment and displayed humility, charity, and patience. It was then that Fathi realized that the toughest lessons must be learned through failure and a deep understanding of the consequences. True courage must also be tempered with wisdom and strength.
The three sisters stood together, each having learned lessons about their own strength, wisdom, and courage. Together they realized what Queen Aurara saw in him. From this point forward, the three goddesses followed him faithfully and loyally. They learned much from him, but also, he learned much from them. Return to Top

RinRin was one of the first dragonborn of her kind. She is the daughter of Lord Maldrand and her mother Azenth. Rin however, never knew her mother. Her egg never hatched until the day of her mother's death. She grew to be older than any other dragonborn. It became apparent that brass dragonborn maintained some of their draconic longevity. Rin has always been a gifted child. Her ability to see into the future was a rare gift. After Azenth’s passing, Maldrand lost his ability to predict future events. With his daughter now sharing the same abilities as her mother, he wasted no time in placing her in service as an Oracle.
After her service as an Oracle was complete, Maldrand found new ways to utilize her unique talents. Her feelings for the black dragon prince, Zaric, made manipulating her easy. Using the information he gained during the years prior, Maldrand orchestrated a series of events that led her to the Forge of Creation. Despite all his efforts, however, Maldrand was unable to completely control his daughter. After Zaric lost in battle at the hands of the Iqoutis Intrapy, they traveled to the far side of the Vaedhe desert and settled in the farmlands north of the Immortal Fortress. She and Zaric were finally married and in the years that followed, she gave birth to an egg that, at the time of her death, still had not hatched. Return to Top

Lord MaldrandLord Maldrand is the king of the brass dragons. Ever since he came to power, the land of Ylri and all other brass dragons changed rapidly. He was searching for something: answers, knowledge, and the truth of the cosmos. However, to him, much of this information was just out of reach. He established spy groups to gather information. He built towers to prod into the past, future, and current events. He even developed a concoction that, when burned, enhanced a brass dragon’s time sensitive abilities, albeit with toxic drawbacks. He married his wife Azenth to gain access to even greater knowledge. When the final tower was built, he insisted that Azenth use it to break beyond dimensions and obtain the greatest wisdom in the Cosmos. Azenth supposedly accomplished this mission, but at the cost of her sanity. She passed shortly thereafter, revealing little of what she learned.
Maldrand was a master manipulator and exceptionally good at hiding his secrets. However, he is not without his own compassion. He pulled the strings of Udari, but another was pulling his as well. The Jek’hom has been with him all this time, whispering to him, guiding his hands. The knowledge Maldrand did obtain led him to where he was before his death. His visions and goals for the future of Udari were not his, but the destroyer’s. Maldrand was only allowed to see what he wanted him to see. The Jek’hom promised Maldrand power and sanctuary for his service, but later betrayed when he killed Maldrand. The Jek’hom resurrected Maldrand under his power and control. However, with the last vestiges of his mind, Maldrand gave his daughter a diary as a gift on her wedding day. The Jek’hom revoked his life the next day. The diary; secrets, stories, and drawings as written, not only by Rin’s mother, but her grandmother as well. It was a collection of all the oracles’ accounts. Its last entries were Maldrand’s last words, apologizing to his daughter for his life of secrecy. Return to Top

ZaricZaric is the young black dragon prince of Vaedhe. Son of Lord Kyndrinth and Queen Firlynia. His twin brother Kyrin is technically older than him, but only by two minutes. When a stranger came to the Black Castle, he warned that if Zaric should ever die, his body must be burned to prevent catastrophe. After this, he was forbidden to engage in any battle, or even spar with his brother. In the next years of his life, Zaric spent time being groomed to be the next king. He hated it. He wanted to have fun with his brother like he used to. One day, he stumbled across a black gemstone while sparring with Kyrin in the dojo. When he picked it up, the gemstone turned into a beautifully deadly, and powerful scythe. The change in the battle’s intensity forced Kyrin to accidentally stab Zaric with his sword, mortally wounding him.
When Zaric awoke a moment later, he was alive and well, with no injury. With no other explanation for the mystery they kept the incident a secret from their father. Zaric continued to play with the gemstone and master its apparent abilities. When he finally got the nerve to say something to his father, he instead witnessed an assassin who had just killed his father. The culprit escaped, but not before leaving behind a red velvet cape, a garment worn only by red dragon Tirs. After completing his trials and coronation, the brothers laid their father to rest before exacting their revenge. This was the start of the Black Campaign. Return to Top

Emperor UrzioUrzio was the last dragon to be born and hatched before the seal that took place that reduced all other dragons to dragonborn. His gold scales were the product of his father, Emperor Ulzene, and his mother Nathe. After his father's death at the end of the Black Campaign, Urzio became the next Emperor. During his reign, he watched new races flow into Udari. Some had already been there, but had come out of hiding. Others were born of seeds placed in accordance with his father’s dying wishes. He stood back and watched as the humans, dwarves, orcs, and elves came into the world. He also watched as a black dragon was born into the world again as well. It would have seemed that the first egg that Firlynia birthed so long ago had finally hatched and emerged as the new king of the black dragons. Urzio was furious and bitter, still bearing the scar from the time that Kyrin shot him from the sky with a ballista, almost killing him.
Urzio from then on was discontented. He had three wives. First was Matru. They had a son, Jyku, born of green scales. Next, he married Senzi. They too had a daughter who was born with red scales. Her name was Shephyrth. Still discontented, he sought the eldest blue dragon at the time, Agni. Agni was many years his senior, and wanted little to do with the smug and arrogant emperor. Despite this she was forced into marriage, and she too had a child, finally getting Urzio what he wanted, an heir with gold scales. He was given the name Ulzris. Return to Top

Hagwin AmastaciaHagwin was just a young elf when he and his sister Anastrianna left with Elion and her followers on the path to a new home. After the establishment of Calestar Haven, Hagwin grew to be a strong warrior and made many friends along the way. Along with Paelias, Veris, and Ivellios they traveled the lands together in search of adventure, sometimes getting lost along the way. He watched as the different peoples that were spreading throughout Udari clashed with each other. The dragons had taken notice and were not pleased. War broke out amongst the dragons and what to do with the lesser mortals. Urzio and Karnath came to odds over the decision. When the white dragon Treinhez came to Calestar Haven, Hagwin and his band of merry men were recruited to either help them put an end to the conflict, or face annihilation.
Hagwin agreed to meet with the rest of the dragons. He rallied the rest of the world’s races, especially the elves, to resist and fight back against Karnath’s armies. During this war Hagwin even befriended Urzio’s wives and even fell in love with one of them, Agni, who found more man in him than in Urzio. By war’s end he and his allies were successful, although there were casualties. Veris was lost with Senzi inside the confines of another realm. Ivellios lost an arm, and both Matru and Agni were forced to sacrifice themselves to open the portal that sealed Urzio and Karnath inside.Hagwin grieved the loss of his beloved Agni, but when he returned to her grave, there was an egg left behind. KarnathKarnath was born deep in a caustic cavern. The cave walls bled out an acidic sludge, and the toxic environment stirred the growth in his egg for centuries. When a small group of young black dragonborn came to the cave to play, they found the wyrmling swimming in a pool of green sludge, feeding on one of the strange ooze-like creatures that lived there. Quickly running to fetch their parents, they came and brought the newborn dragon home, and raised it as their own for the time being. It did not take long until Karnath grew to a point in size that no two dragonborn were able to care for. Karnath left on his own to discover the world around him, but returned home shortly thereafter. The black dragonborn heralded him as their new king, one they had not had since Zaric’s death many centuries ago.
Karnath learned quickly of the world and was brought up to speed. However, he was still young and adolescent. He was also a purist. After witnessing much of the strife and conflict brought about by the other races, he believed that there was only one cause of action that would correct the problem—destruction. He went to Emperor Urzio, but was ridiculed and insulted. Their first meeting was off to a horrific start and the relationship between Urzio, Karnath, and the other mortal races sparked an all-out world war. The War of the Ancients.
